Preachers
Whilst the Church has established procedures for the running of
meetings for members the Preachers are the outward face of the
organisation. Preachers are appointed by responsible Officers and
undertake services both within the Church Sanctuaries and at external
venues as maybe appropriate. In the early days of the Church, before
modern communication methods had been established, the primary method of
evangelisation was through face to face meetings. Hence the role of
the Preachers was very critical in spreading the message of the Church.
Initially Preachers were appointed in
England from where they would travel to other
countries. By the 1840's Preachers had been appointed in other
countries, including Australia.
